The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) is a fully staffed non-profit membership organization with well defined management, financial, and administrative systems in place. IHCC staff and consultants have combined experience of more than 75 years serving businesses and providing training, advocacy and technical assistance.
IHCC enjoys a solvent financial standing through effective fund-raising activities and corporate sponsorships. IHCC also counts among its members many experienced, successful business owners and professionals that serve as resources for staff and provide guidance and support for a variety of activities.
The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) is one of the most successful membership business organizations in the country. Originally incorporated in 1990 as the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce, IHCC’s mission is to provide resources and advocate on issues that affect the Hispanic business community.
In the last few years, IHCC’s membership has increased by more than 1,000 percent, reflecting the continued, outstanding growth of the Hispanic business community. IHCC’s membership numbers also reflect the U.S. Bureau of the Census findings that the Hispanic community in the State of Illinois now exceeds 1.5 Million in population, including nearly 1 Million Hispanics residing in the Chicago Metropolitan Area.
IHCC capabilities and experience are further characterized by the following elements:


IHCC provides free one-on-one expert consulting services, training, and capacity building assistance to Hispanic business owners and entrepreneurs completely free of charge. Through the general support of the Illinois Department and Commerce and Economic Opportunity, IHCC operates the Small Business Development, Procurement Technical Assistance and Illinois Hispanic Entrepreneurship Centers. IHCC also provides drug-free workplace and business assistance to Hispanic firms through grants from the Illinois Department of Human Services and the City of Chicago CDBG program respectively.
