Published April 25, 2007 - Attendees of the fifth annual Woman of the Year event, which celebrates the accomplishments of successful U.S. Hispanic women, are asked to bring new or gently used blouses and business bags. Donations at the 2007 WOY will go directly to the Los Angeles chapter of Dress for Success, an international nonprofit organization providing interview suits and career development services to disadvantaged women making the transition into the workforce.
Published April 25, 2007 - The latest Marketing y Medios Special Report, out now in select issues of Adweek, Brandweek and Mediaweek, announces the Hispanic Creative Best Spots of 2006. Out of nearly 200 spots submitted, 13 were selected. The competition also awarded special recognition to the Campaign of the Year and a Campaign Honorable Mention.
Published April 25, 2007 - It took the Dow just 129 trading days, since Oct. 18, to make the trek from 12,000 to 13,000, far less than the 7 1/2 years the blue chips took to go from 11,000 to 12,000. The swiftness of this latest trip does recall the days of the dot-com boom when the major indexes were soaring and it took the Dow a mere 24 days to barrel from 10,000 to 11,000.
Published April 25, 2007 - When it comes to political loyalties, religion trumps ethnicity: Hispanic Catholics, who make up two-thirds of the Hispanic population, are solidly Democratic. But born-again or evangelical Hispanics, at 15 percent of the Hispanic population and rising, favor Republicans, though by a much narrower margin.
Published April 20, 2007 - HP has done several campaigns to target Hispanic small and medium-sized businesses, and many are focused on the Web. For example, it has launched a U.S. Hispanic small business Web site, presented in Spanish, and built to highlight the full portfolio of the company’s products and services for Hispanic-owned small and medium-size businesses.
